Food Runner

Position Summary Support servers and serve as liaison between the kitchen, servers and Guests. Ensure hot food is delivered hot and cold food cold to the appropriate server and/or Guests. Provide garnish, presentation and preparation assistance in the kitchen. Reports To FOH Manager Position Requirements Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times Deliver food from kitchen to appropriate server and assist server with delivery of food to Guests Work with Expeditor to ensure efficient delivery of food based on restaurant layout Perform food preparation duties when needed Follow all Chickies & Petes service standards Check food for quality and presentation before serving. All food should be presented according to Menu Builds. Ensure food is transported and handled in a sanitary manner Deliver to-go orders to Host/Hostess Stand for Guest pick up Assist in bussing and cleaning responsibilities Ensure all condiments and napkin dispensers are clean and well stocked Respond appropriately to Guest requests, comments and complaints and bring any issues to the attention of a manager Complete beginning, change and end of shift side duties Work efficiently and with a sense of urgency Provide garnish for specified menu items according to Menu Build Assist in keeping work areas clean Attend all scheduled employee meetings Additional tasks as assigned Qualifications Guest Service: Must consistently assess, anticipate and meet Guests’ needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the Guests’ overall dining experience. Communication: Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with Guests, vendors, coworkers and management. Understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when more direction or training is needed. Interpersonal Relationships: Must adapt to different personalities of Guests and coworkers without losing focus. Teamwork: Working together as a team is a critical success factor. Establishing good working relationships keeps a team-oriented work environment. Sales Techniques and Guest Influence: Must understand all Chickie’s & Pete’s products and services and be able to understand Guest’s needs clearly. Performing General Physical Activities: Must perform physical activities in varied environments requiring moderate strength. Include cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling materials. Stand for long periods. Problem Solving and Conflict Management: Must recognize a problem when it arises and resolve appropriately using good judgement, tact and initiative per company policy and procedure. Analytical Skills: General accounting and mathematical skills with point of sale application knowledge. Use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for problem resolution. Quality Control and Priority Assessment: Evaluate current practices and processes, immediately recognize potential conflict areas, and initiate ways to improve business methods, quality of products and services for Guests. Language Skills: Speak and write effectively in English. Flexibility: Occasionally work overtime and assist with workload of others if needed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
