Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking a dedicated Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across the lifespan in an acute-care hospital setting, supporting a broad range of clinical services including emergency care, surgery, medical-surgical units, and specialty clinics. You will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, develop and implement appropriate therapy plans under medical direction, and deliver treatments that support optimal cardiopulmonary function and patient comfort.
As a Certified Respiratory Therapist, you will administer oxygen and aerosol therapies, perform nebulizer treatments, manage non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation, obtain and analyze arterial blood gases, and respond to respiratory emergencies and rapid response calls. You will be responsible for safe operation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring all therapies are delivered in accordance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and evidence-based practice. Accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and clear communication with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team are essential components of this position.
