Maintenance & Reliability EngineerThe Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) Engineer is a salaried position reporting to the M&R Manager. The position requires a strong technical background and good supervisory and organizational skills. The M&R Engineer interacts with people in all levels of the organization, as well as vendors, contractors, and representatives from government agencies, therefore good communication skills are also required. Leadership and attention to detail are required characteristics.Essential FunctionsPerform Reliability Engineering FunctionsCreating and optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and lubrication analysis.Using data analysis, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and address performance issues.Review trends in MTTR and MTBF and develop action plans to improve.Maintaining site infrastructure.Perform Industrial Engineering FunctionsReview and optimize complex systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall equipment performance.Ergonomic improvements.Production ventilation improvement, design and implementation.Perform Process Engineering functionsRecommend design modifications, implement new technologies, or develop training programs to enhance equipment performanceMaintain control platforms of the process machinery and evaluate to make any changes to improvePerform Project Engineering functionsDevelop and present information to attain authorizations for expenditureDevelop statement of work for the project, both internal and externalManage project execution to ensure safe, on time, and on budgetEnsure all work product considers and upholds EHS standardsAssist the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, and M&R Manager in the overseeing of the Maintenance DepartmentFill in as required to supervise the maintenance department personnelBecome an admin level user of the CMMSPlan and coordinate maintenance projectsDirect maintenance personnel and outside contractors to complete projectsCompetencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)Reliability engineering skills (predictive maintenance, data analysis, FMEA/RCA, MTTR/MTBF improvement)Industrial and process engineering skills (system optimization, ergonomics, ventilation, control platforms)Project engineering abilities (scoping, budgeting, planning, and managing safe/on-time/on-budget projects)Ability to evaluate equipment performance, recommend improvements, and implement new technologiesStrong communication and documentation skills, including presenting proposals and developing trainingLeadership and coordination skills to assist maintenance leadership, direct personnel, and manage contractorsAdvanced CMMS skills for planning, tracking, and administering maintenance activitiesStrong EHS awareness to ensure all work meets safety and environmental standardsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position works under minimal supervision. Work is assigned based on expected results and deadlines. The role includes providing guidance to other maintenance personnel during tasks, but it does not have formal supervisory authority.Work EnvironmentFrequent walking, climbing, and hands-on work with machinery both indoors and outdoors. Includes exposure to noise, moving equipment, varying weather conditions, and occasionally confined or elevated work areas. Employees must always follow safety procedures and be prepared to navigate a dynamic, physically demanding environment while troubleshooting and repairing equipment throughout the site.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkExempt, salary position. Expected to work a full-time schedule and maintain the hours necessary to fulfill job responsibilities. Work hours may vary based on operational needs and can include occasional extended hours, weekend work, or adjusted schedules. Reliable attendance, flexibility, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential to success in this role.Required Education, Experience, CertificationBS in Engineering; Mechanical, or Electrical (Instrument & Controls) preferredMinimum 5 years experience with reliability and production improvement activities in an industrial environment.Experience with: Troubleshooting and Programming PLCs and DCS, SCADA, boilers and boiler water chemistry, hydraulic systems, vacuum pump system, air compressors and air dryers, piping diagrams, sizing and selection, HVAC and plant ventilation designProficient with AutoCAD, Solid Works, MS Office, CMMS, and use of the internet to locate equipment, parts, and technical information.Ability to direct and focus internal and external work groupsFlexible, "hands on" style, able to work well with co-workersEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
