Key Qualifications:

• New York State Teaching Certification as a School Social Worker

• Experience in educational or healthcare social work, preferably within school environments
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to support the unique needs of students in Special Education

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support for students receiving special education services
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to develop and implement individualized plans
• Engage in case management, including assessments, monitoring, and documentation
• Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community resources
• Facilitate group and individual interventions to build coping skills and resilience
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
