Director of Software Engineering and AI - Operations

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 10+ years of applied experience and 5+ years leading technologists to anticipate and resolve complex technical challenges in your domain
• Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
• Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Experience leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices across teams using enterprise-authorized tools, including setting expectations for human review and quality gates, measuring outcomes, and securely handling sensitive inputs and outputs
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use and control expectations in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, security, resiliency, and governance, with the ability to influence leaders on safe scaling and reuse
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Expertise in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field

• Lead technology and process implementations that deliver functional technology objectives
• Make decisions affecting team resources, budgets, tactical operations, and the execution of processes and procedures
• Set direction and governance for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation, driving measurable improvements in speed, quality, and operational outcomes while establishing guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse
• Apply software development lifecycle toolchain knowledge, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value and support capacity-unlock initiatives at scale
• Govern coding decisions, control obligations, and success measures, including cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
• Deliver technical solutions that can be reused across businesses and domains
• Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams
