Molding Process Techician

SUMMARY: The Process Technician Team Leader requires an advanced level of understanding in injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment as well as the process of making these items work in unison. This position is required to run the molding floor, make decisions involving quality, job assignments, and rejected production. Work inter‑departmentally to fix ongoing issues with molds and machines. Required to promote a safe work environment and work with/train others to improve their abilities to handle day‑to‑day operations and decision making. This position is responsible for leading the processing group, and answering for the decisions they make. Responsibilities Lead Group in the direction of Quality and taking accountability for actions as a group Improve molding floor through equipment repair and upgrades including justification for new equipment Monitor progress of group and maintain accountability Communication between tool room and processing group along with the Maintenance department and Engineering on determining root‑cause repairs Policing block cavities and notations on mold sheet along with First Art.’s Must follow all work rules and policies Qualifications GED or equivalent One to three months related experience and/or training Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to other employees of the organization Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; calculate rate, ratio, and percentage Reasoning ability: apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions; handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear; frequently use hands to hand or feel; reach; climb or balance; sit, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 58 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, vibration exposure, occasional work in high or precarious places, occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, noise level usually loud.
