Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (OA) in the CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE-EAST of MARINE CORPS BASE. Before applying, you're encouraged to learn more about federal human resources careers by visiting the HR Career Compass at: Responsibilities You will receive, track and follow up on a variety of pay issues and receive, track and submit RPAs for crediting military members with creditable military service and/or military buy backs. You will coordinate pre-employment physicals and pre-employment drug tests for the serviced population and screen calls and visitors to provide necessary information. You will provide classification services to clerical, lower graded technical, trades and entry-level professional and administrative positions. You will perform an array of clerical and administrative duties in support of the Director and Staff. You will determine appropriate funding sources and make necessary purchases using government bank cards and verify, reconcile, and maintain all relevant records. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Reviewing requirements and processing personnel actions in accordance with regulations; facilitating new employee onboarding/hiring process; entering and retrieving data utilizing human resources information systems; supporting the position classification process in making minor edits to position descriptions and/or performing electronic recordkeeping of staffing/classification documents. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
