Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/06/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 6, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Respiratory Care Unit night shift position requiring 3 years of critical care experience with trauma and neuro background.Details\n \n High acuity stepdown ICU setting within the Respiratory Care Unit\n Patient population includes acute and chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support\n Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing\n Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:30\n Every other weekend (EOW) required\n Floating required as needed\n Holiday coverage required as needed\n Uses Epic EMR system\n Travel pairs will not be considered\n Requirements\n \n Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration\n BLS and ACLS certifications required via AHA\n NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration\n Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support\n Trauma and neuro experience required\n Charge RN, SICU, MICU, trauma, and stroke experience preferred\n Degree required from an accredited school, or a degree from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing with 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital\n Epic EMR experience required\n Must complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review\n Additional Information\n \n Provide critical care nursing support to high acuity respiratory patients requiring ventilator management\n Facility is a smoke-free environment\n Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered at a lower pay rate\n Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler\n Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools will not be accepted\n Must pass a basic arrhythmia assessment, required for critical care areas, with 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms\n If a retake of the dysrhythmia exam is needed, candidates must achieve an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% on lethal rhythm sections, and 83% on all other sections within 24 hours\n Proof of vaccination status is required with no declinations allowed\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-727691.
