Dietary AideFairhaven Christian Retirement Center is a retirement community committed to providing our residents and staff with the upmost dignity and respect. We are seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with our meal services. The ideal candidate loves working with older people and works well both independently and as a team player.Primary Function: Responsible for serving food to residents and guests, dishwashing and housekeeping in dining areas.Essential Functions:Learns various therapeutic diets and applies this knowledge in plate service.Prepares, sorts and labels nourishments / snacksDelivers plates and other food supplies to the floorsWashes dishes and performs general clean-up of dish room, equipment and work areas.Cleans and sanitizes dining room tables.Checks off and initials cleaning checklist at end of shiftSafeguards privacy and confidentiality of all resident health care information which includes complying with all HIPAA regulationsInteracts positively with all residents at all times creating an atmosphere which promotes a homelike environmentMaintains, cares for and safely uses supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently per Fairhaven policies and proceduresMaintains sanitary conditions; follows infection control and waste management procedures as they relate to this positionReports incidents of abuse, neglect or a violation of the resident's rights immediatelyEssential Qualifications & Requirements:Physical condition allowing for normal kitchen duties including but not limited to; lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grabbing, pushing, pulling, standing or walking an entire shift, use of arms and hands with dexterity, ability to read and understand directions.Ability to communicate in a friendly manner to residents and coworkers in English.Comfort in working in a Christian Retirement Center environment.Working Conditions:Kitchen and dining areasExposed to steam, hot water, food and hot equipmentSchedule and Pay Information:Starting Pay: $15.00 -$15.45 per hourHours: weekdays/evenings/weekendsFairhaven Benefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance*Flex Spending Account (FSA)*Optional Voluntary life insurance*Optional Short-term disability (STD) insurance*Company-paid Life insurance*Seven (7) Paid Holidays*Birthday Recognition Day (paid)*403(b) Retirement PlanPaid time off (PTO)Reduced priced employee lunchesNote: Items marked with an asterisk (*) are only available for full-time employees.
