Procurement/Sourcing Specialist II

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Procurement/Sourcing Specialist II to manage sourcing strategies and supplier relationships for automation equipment and capital projects worth $1M–$10M annually. The role involves quotation analysis, vendor management, commercial negotiations, and cross-functional coordination across engineering, finance, and legal teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing strategies, RFx activities, quotations, purchase orders, and commercial coordination for automation equipment and services
• Develop and maintain relationships with automation integrators, machine shops, component suppliers, and critical vendors
• Support capital equipment engagements by evaluating quotations, pricing, supplier capacity, lead times, and supply risks
• Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and project commitments; coordinate corrective actions
• Identify cost reduction opportunities, improve lead times, mitigate supply risk, and enhance project execution

Requirements

• High school diploma plus 4 years procurement/sourcing experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 2 years relevant experience
• Procurement, sourcing, or supplier management experience in manufacturing or engineering environments
• Experience with RFx activities, quotation analysis, purchase orders, and commercial terms
• Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Project Management, Finance, and Legal teams
• Strong supplier relationship management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with ERP/procurement systems such as Oracle
• Experience with capital investment processes and project financial considerations preferred
