Looking for strong Ortho checklist Unit participates in team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partner together to care for a group of patients. The goal of this model is to divide the work and not the patients, ultimately improving both the workload and patient care. Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the needs of the unit. Miami Valley Hospital (level 1 Trauma Center) Must have the following requirements: Must pass an online EKG competency course BLS required NIH required EPIC experience required 1.5 years exp in a level 1 or 2 preferred Floating and Other Requirements: Traveler will be first to float at Premier's discretion. Agency will float in/out of specialty clusters. It will be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the unit floated to, including high-risk respiratory unit/COVID. If assigned to MVH, this could include floating main campus (Dayton) south campus (Centerville) less than 10 miles from Main Campus and North Campus (Englewood) less than 15 miles from Main Campus. Traveler must be available to work every other weekend/holiday. Premier Health reserves the right to cancel 2 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract. Premier Health reserves the right to cancel agreement with 2 weeks' notice without fee or fine. Travelers are not eligible for Premier health employee incentives. Unit Details: Working with Tele/drips-23 bed unit Hospital: Miami Valley Hospital (Level 1 Trauma Center) Medical Surgical Orthopedic patients most commonly taking care of patients with traumatic hip fractures, elective spine surgeries, and other traumatic orthopedic injuries. Most patients require pre/post-surgical orthopedic care, including heart monitors, drains, PCAs, and Ketamine drips. Also, provide care to any med surg patient/overflow. Navy Blue Scrubs RTO Request RTO with initial submittal; NO RTO will be added after the offer. RTO approval will be at the Manager's discretion. Submittal email must include application and current Nursys report, and other certs are not needed if listed on the application. Most commonly taking care of patients with traumatic hip fractures, elective Spine surgeries, and other traumatic orthopedic injuries. Pre and post inpatient surgical care provided by nursing, including heart monitors, drains, PCAs and Ketamine drips. We do require that candidates are either NIH stroke certified upon contract start or are willing to complete the NIH stroke healthstream along with onboarding Healthstreams. Special Equipment: We do have a Sara Steady to assist with mobilization of patients. We do utilize CADD pumps for ketamine infusion post spine surgery. #Tier1 Travel Compliance Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract. Candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be accepted. Required Modules: Up to 24 hours of orientation modules are billable. Floating Candidates may float within hospital or to another Premier hospital nearby please refer to the job description for floating details. It is common for travelers to float to other units based on their skill sets and based on census. Candidate must be comfortable floating based on the job description with no restrictions or special requests. Charting Exp Required Epic is required for all inpatient nursing roles and most Allied roles. Please review the specific job posting for details. Any previous PERM/PRN staff employee of Premier Health Partners or prior agency not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before applying as a traveler.
