Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Zero to six months of related experience License: Valid multi-state or State Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NRP, proof of instruction/passage of Intermediate FH Monitoring Must-Have: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); BLS certified through AHA; Cesarean Section; Epic; Labor and Delivery Experience; LDRPS; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Description: The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. The role utilizes the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures. The nurse monitors and evaluates patient functional status. Utilizes the nursing process in caring for assigned patients. Completes assessment and individualizes the plan of care within established guidelines. Carries out nursing care with consideration for cultural and psychosocial factors and patient ages. Organizes, prioritizes, and performs nursing skills appropriate for the patient population. Anticipates patient and unit needs. Demonstrates sound knowledge base in bio-psychosocial aspects of care. Delegates and communicates effectively and appropriately. Demonstrates professional judgment in response to changing patient and unit situations. Documents steps of the nursing process and care on the appropriate record. Records data concisely, consistently, accurately, and legibly. Utilizes correct medical terminology and abbreviations. Addresses problems and progress toward outcomes according to unit policy. Facilitates patient education and discharge planning. Makes timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes resources in planning and presenting patient education. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends mandatory in-services and meets unit education standards. Accurately completes variance reports. Exercises independent judgment in planning the sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Works directly with patients and customers. Collaborates with internal and external customers. Engages with other healthcare professionals and staff.
