Calibration Technician
A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.
The Calibration Technician is a subject matter expert in various calibrations technician disciplines, multifunctional and/or inter-related precision measurement equipment, instruments, and instrumentation systems using electrical, electronic, physical, dimensional, and optical standard skill levels. This expertise will support, technical assessments, and recommended measurement solutions often unique in design or system configuration.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Calibration Technician: $32-$35hr
Pay commensurate with experience.

Calibration Technician Responsibilities Include:
- Apply metrology principles to calibrate precision measurement instruments, systems, and standards, including pulse generators, frequency counters, voltmeters, optical time-domain reflectometers, dimensional measurement devices, and electro optic test systems.
- Set up and operate calibration equipment and standards under actual or simulated conditions; use physical dimensional reference standards to ensure traceability.
- Establish appropriate measurement tolerances based on equipment specifications.
- Systematically identify calibration issues, define root causes, and evaluate alternative corrective actions.
- Calculate test uncertainty and test uncertainty ratio (TUR) to confirm suitability of calibration standards; document measurement uncertainty per national and international standards.
- Use computer programming routines to configure and adjust equipment operating parameters.
- Deliver work that meets quality standards and complete assignments within established timelines.
- Troubleshoot and repair new systems during operational testing; refine procedures to address unforeseen defects.
- Operate and maintain equipment safely, following established safety rules and regulations.
- Draft and submit changes to detailed schematics, drawings, and maintenance procedures for approval and use by junior personnel.
- Document software applications and modifications; submit all documentation to the Configuration/Data Management (C/DM) office.
- Test and debug programs to detailed requirements; submit completed application software to the C/DM office.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic principles.
- Exercise sound judgment and independence in selecting methods and techniques to resolve complex calibration challenges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Multimeters & calibrators
- Torque Wrenches & transducers
- Pressure Gauges, dead weight testers, vacuum gauges
- Oscilloscopes
- Thread gauges, pin sets, optical comparators
Core technical tasks:
- Perform Precision Calibration
- Troubleshoot and Repair TMDE
- Calculate and Document Measurement Uncertainty
- Precision Alignment and Adjustment
- Verify and Maintain Laboratory Reference Standards
- Operate Automated Calibration Systems
- Conduct Out-of-Tolerance (OOT) Inspections
- Environmental Monitoring and Control
- Calibrate and Certify Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
- Quality Assurance and Internal Audits
- Customer Interface and Training
This position supports Department of Defense (DoD) production and maintenance operations and requires adherence to applicable government, industry, and corporate procedures.
Calibration Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- High school diploma or GED; or six months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three years of relevant experience.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, safety procedures, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods and proficiency with measuring tools.
- Works independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high attention to detail and production efficiency.
- Basic proficiency with computers and inventory systems.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Thrives in a fast-paced production environment; adapts quickly to shifting priorities.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently stands, bends, reaches; strong manual dexterity required.
- Comfortable working around heat, fumes, and noise typical of industrial settings.
- U.S. citizenship may be required depending on contract or security needs.
- Background check and drug screening may be required.
