The hotel features 338 modern guestrooms (including 14 suites) with modern amenities. Overview The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, reviewing, organizing, and compiling management reports on a timely basis, and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. The role also includes effectively communicating concerns and related issues to all levels of management and performing guest service agent duties as required, such as check‑in, check‑out, switchboard operation, and reservations. Responsibilities Understand and work with financial information and data, including basic arithmetic functions. Cross‑train in other accounting or hotel‑related areas. Prioritize job functions to meet deadlines. Perform guest services functions as required (e.g., check guests in/out, take reservations, handle phone calls). Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports. Prepare and distribute daily reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Discount Programs, Tax Reports) according to hotel standards. Prepare and distribute month‑end reports. Audit and reconcile all Front Desk and Food & Beverage cashier work. Audit, reconcile, consolidate, and transmit all credit card transactions in a timely manner. Ensure accuracy of all reported numbers, including statistics. Enter and update financial information into the corporate communications network. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data processing system functions. Keep management informed of any unusual operational or financial events and/or deviations from policies or procedures. Ensure overall guest satisfaction. Respond to governmental inquiries upon receipt. Handle guest requests efficiently. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, and/or one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field. Experience in guest services is preferred. Proficient computer skills. Flexibility for long hours; overnight shifts available. Capability to perform sedentary work, occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds. Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Effective verbal and written communication skills with all employees and guests. Strong listening skills and ability to clarify concerns raised by employees and guests. Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Professional appearance and grooming, wearing the proper uniform and nametag. Compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations. Ability to identify problems and assist in implementing solutions.
