The Edenton St. UMC Early Childhood Program is seeking an exceptional Lead Teacher for our Infant Classroom beginning in late August 2026 .
This position offers the opportunity to join a strong and supportive Infant Team, working alongside three experienced Assistant Teachers . We are looking for a caring, collaborative educator with experience working with infants (or a similar age group) and previous classroom leadership experience.
About Our ProgramAt ECP, we focus on helping children grow socially and emotionally through a nurturing, play-based environment. We are deeply committed to the principles of Conscious Discipline and believe that all behavior is a form of communication.
Schedule- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
- Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. (includes weekly staff meeting)
- Closed for all Wake County Public School System Traditional Calendar holidays and select teacher workdays
- Starting pay: $22.00 per hour
- Hourly position
Preferred candidates will have:
- A degree in an education-related field
- Experience working in a preschool setting, preferably with infants
- Experience supervising or managing at least one Assistant Teacher
- Familiarity with Conscious Discipline principles
