The Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of a nursing home's operations. This includes regulatory compliance, financial management, staffing, resident satisfaction, and quality improvement. The LNHA ensures the facility provides safe, effective, and compassionate care while meeting organizational goals and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the daily operations of the nursing home.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS requirements.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote quality resident care.
• Manage facility budgets, financial performance, and operational expenses.
• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate department managers and staff.
• Foster a positive work environment that supports employee engagement and retention.
• Monitor quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
• Ensure resident rights, safety, and satisfaction are maintained.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary teams to improve clinical outcomes.
• Oversee risk management, infection prevention, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, families, healthcare providers, and community partners.
• Ensure the facility maintains appropriate licensing, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
• Review operational reports and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) license in the applicable state (required).
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field (required).
• Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state licensing requirements, and long-term care operations.
• Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, and staff leadership.
