Job Details Position Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Staff Development / Infection Control Nurse to support clinical education, staff competency, and infection prevention efforts. This dual-role position is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for clinical staff while also overseeing infection prevention and control practices to ensure a safe and compliant healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation and ongoing education programs for nursing and facility staff Assess staff competency and provide remediation or additional training as needed Maintain accurate training and competency records in compliance with regulations Oversee infection prevention and control programs and ensure adherence to current guidelines and regulations Monitor, track, and report infection trends and outbreaks Implement infection control policies and procedures to reduce risk and improve resident safety Conduct audits, surveillance, and environmental assessments Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve quality of care Educate staff on infection prevention best practices, PPE use, and regulatory updates Assist with survey preparedness and regulatory compliance related to infection control and staff education Qualifications: Active RN license in good standing (state-specific) Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care preferred Prior experience in staff education, infection control, or quality assurance strongly preferred Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards and regulatory requirements Excellent communication, teaching, and organizational skills Ability to lead training sessions and influence clinical practice Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred but not required Schedule & Compensation: Full-time position: 40 hours per week + on call - Competitive salary based on experience Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, PTO, etc.) Professional development and continuing education opportunities Interested in hearing more?
