Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Tampa, FL. Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records. This role performs complex accounting tasks, including, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end and year-end close processes, and may support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects. The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with GAAP and internal policies, supports audits, and may assist in budgeting and forecasting activities. This position collaborates cross-functionally with other departments to support overall financial health and decision-making. Responsibilities:
- General ledger accounting and maintenance
- Prepare recurring and nonrecurring journal entries
- Handle accruals, prepaids, depreciation, payroll, and other assigned entries
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Review and analyze P&L activity
- Investigate and explain account and P&L variances
- Support month-end and year-end close
- Assist with monthly management reporting and variance analysis
- Support internal and external audits
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Accounting or Finance degree: Accounting degree preferred
- 3+ years of Senior Accountant/accounting experience
- Process improvement experience
- Multi-entity accounting experience
- Month-end and year-end close experience
- Experience supporting management reporting
- Strong P&L experience
- Logistics industry experience
- Experience with a large ERP system - open to any major ERP
- Strong Excel skills
- Self-starter/-go-getter-
- Strong focus on efficiency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work additional hours when needed
- Solid overall Senior Accountant skill set
