Oil & Gas Revenue AccountantAbout the Role: We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Revenue Accountant to join our growing team. This position may be based in Dallas, Texas, in a hybrid arrangement, or fully remote for the right candidate, depending on experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of the revenue accounting function from wellhead to financial reporting. This role will be responsible for revenue processing, royalty reporting, regulatory compliance, reconciliations, and special projects across multiple operated and non-operated properties.Key Responsibilities:Process and reconcile monthly oil, gas, and NGL revenue.Review purchaser statements, settlements, pricing, volumes, and revenue allocations.Maintain and reconcile revenue suspense balances.Prepare and review royalty owner payments and owner relations inquiries.Manage reporting and compliance requirements with: Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR), Texas General Land Office (GLO), New Mexico regulatory and royalty reporting agencies.Review and reconcile severance taxes and production-related reporting.Coordinate with land, operations, production accounting, and management teams to resolve ownership, pricing, and volume discrepancies.Perform month-end account reconciliations and support financial close processes.Assist with acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence projects, audits, and special accounting projects.Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.Prepare ad hoc analysis and management reports as requested.Position Requirements - Qualifications:Required: Oil and gas revenue accounting experience (10+ years preferred). Strong understanding of upstream oil and gas accounting principles. Experience with revenue distributions, royalty owner accounting, and purchaser settlements. Working knowledge of severance taxes, royalty reporting, and production accounting concepts. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Preferred: Experience with ONRR reporting and compliance. Experience with Texas GLO reporting. Experience with New Mexico production, royalty, and regulatory reporting requirements. Experience supporting acquisitions, divestitures, and due diligence activities. Accounting degree, CPA, or equivalent industry experience.Software & Technical Skills Required:Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, Complex formulas, Data analysis and reconciliations.Experience with oil and gas accounting software (WolfePak/PakEnergy Preferred; OGYS accounting software aplus).Experience with accounting software.Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Teams.Strong reporting and data management capabilities.Preferred:Experience with EnergyLink, Enverus, Quorum, or similar oil and gas accounting platforms.Familiarity with electronic royalty, production, and regulatory reporting systems.What We're Looking For: We value professionals who: Take ownership of their work.
