Per diem and relocation are not available for this position; successful candidates must be current residents in/near the area. Available to work overtime as needed, schedule subject to change Must be able to pass safety council Must pass a drug and background screen Previous industrial experience a plus General Job Description Assist skilled construction workers in performing their assigned duties. Worker may perform a large variety of duties. Functional Requirements Employee may perform one or more of the following duties: digs, spreads and levels dirt and gravel; lifts, carries and holds building materials, tools and supplies; cleans tools, equipment, materials and work areas; mixes, spreads or pours concrete, asphalt, gravel or other materials; joins, wraps and seals sections of pipe; performs a variety of non-machine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with asphalt, placing culvert sections in trench, etc.; spends time on one job or may be transferred from task to task as the project progresses to completion. Qualification Standards Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation Hazard Communication orientation/test Turner Industries Group, LLC. indoctrination OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87) Job site orientation Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.) Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.) Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place Physical Involvement Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction. Mental Involvement Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; selecting proper tools; repeating tasks of short duration according to a set procedure; performing a variety of duties which may often change; following oral and/or writtendirections; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
