LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE II

Main Purpose of Job This position provides licensed nursing duties to support total patient care. The role has attained more experience in the care of long‑term care and chronically ill patients. It assists in the planning and implementation of a prescribed treatment program, provides total nursing care for complex patients and may assume special assignments. Minimum Qualifications Education: Determined by the Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Practical Nurses. Experience: One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience. Licenses, Registrations and Certifications Must possess a current license as a Practical Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing. May be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle; therefore must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. May be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training. Special Requirements Subject to call‑in and must provide the facility with a telephone number where they can be reached. Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
