Location: Washington, DC (Northwest DC) – Hybrid (Onsite Required)
Position Type: Long-Term Contract (12-Month Initial Term with Options to Extend)
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship Required
Pay Range: $45-$47 hr
Position Overview
A Federal Government Agency is seeking an experienced Senior Contract Specialist to support a high-profile federal acquisition program. This is a long-term contract opportunity with an initial one-year period of performance and options for extension. The selected candidate will work in a hybrid environment with regular onsite support required in Northwest Washington, DC .
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex federal acquisitions, procurement policy, acquisition governance, and project management. This role requires the ability to work independently while managing multiple high-priority procurement actions and providing guidance on complex contracting matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex and non-standard federal procurements, including construction contracts.
- Develop acquisition strategies, contract specifications, and solicitation documents for complex procurements.
- Conduct contract negotiations and resolve technical and contractual issues.
- Coordinate procurement requirements among multiple stakeholders and end users.
- Resolve contract disputes and provide recommendations on procurement matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal acquisition regulations, procurement laws, policies, and procedures.
- Perform acquisition planning and provide expertise in acquisition governance and procurement policy.
- Provide technical guidance and support to contracting staff as needed.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through responsive and professional service.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Economics, Mathematics, English, Government, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 10+ years of experience in acquisition management, project management, acquisition governance, procurement policy, or related disciplines.
- Federal government contracting experience is strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of federal contracting regulations, procurement laws, policies, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with government and commercial contracting statutes, regulations, solicitation development, and procurement principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to independently manage complex procurement actions.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and prepare procurement-related documentation of moderate to high complexity.
Required Technical Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Required Certifications
Candidates must possess one or more of the following:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- FAC-C
- FAC-P/PM
- DAWIA Certification (or equivalent)
Work Schedule
- Hybrid work environment with regular onsite support required in Northwest Washington, DC .
- Initial 12-month contract with strong potential for extension.
