Job Description

Perform various accounting duties and financial analysis for the Accounts Payable/Payroll GL functions company-wide.

Responsibilities

Perform daily and monthly accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals to ensure accurate and timely recording of payroll and benefits expenses.

Assist in month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.

Utilize data analytics to ensure completeness and accuracy in recording expenses and related accruals in the general ledger.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in accounting workflows as well as look for opportunities to implement analytical procedures for large sets of payroll and benefits data.

Communicate key information to other accounting team members and management.

Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries.

Collaborate with various departments, including payroll cash disbursements, benefits, FP&A and operations to identify and support account balance and statistical fluctuations.

Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and corporate policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Two to three years accounting experience, ideally with public accounting firm, or public/large private company.

Previous experience with payroll preferred but not required.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Background with data analytics

Ability to effectively prioritize, execute tasks and provide accurate and efficient service under the stress of tight deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.

Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, and related accounting systems. Oracle Fusion and ADP experience preferred but not necessary.
