Job Description:

The Safety Engineer plays a critical role in fostering a safe and compliant work environment by applying technical expertise and proactive communication to reduce risk across the organization. This position is responsible for driving continuous improvement in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance through hazard identification, risk mitigation, training, and policy development. The Safety Engineer will partner closely with production, maintenance, and cross-site teams to align on best practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a strong culture of safety rooted in trust, accountability, and ongoing learning.

Responsibilities:

• Reduce risk levels through elimination, substitution, engineering, and controls.
• Establish and review relevant policies and procedures for best practices and compliance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of EHS training programs.
• Work with the production and maintenance teams as well as other sites to establish best practices in safety.
• Assist with EHS tracking and recordkeeping including the OSHA log and EHS KPIs.
• Help establish and grow the company's safety culture and business through a commitment to communication, trust, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure day-to-day compliance with EHS policies and new regulations.
• Participate in Job Safety Analyses, Incident Investigations, and other programs to serve and improve the safety of our team.

Qualifications:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Health and Safety, or Engineering along with 0-3 years of work experience or 5+ years of relevant work experience without a Bachelor's degree.
• Possess the desire and attitude to implement measures to improve our team's safety.
• Must have the ability to communicate and listen to the needs of our production and maintenance associates.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and other applicable EHS regulations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across multiple teams and functions.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Proficiency with safety data systems, recordkeeping, and EHS KPI tracking tools.
