Work Schedule:
Full-time 100% FTE Monday -Friday dayshift 7:30AM - 4:00PM rotating weeknight/weekend/holiday call requirements at University Hospital in Madison WI. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay:
This position may be eligible for an $8000.00 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).
Additional compensation may include:
Evening and night shift differential
Weekend differential

Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care performing a wide range of procedures that assist our providers with the diagnosis treatment and management of patients and their health needs.

We are seeking a Medical Technologist to:

• Performs testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity).
• Skills to operate calibrate maintain and troubleshoot analyzers and other lab equipment.
• Demonstrates competence in all laboratory procedures sufficient to perform at a satisfactory level without supervision
• Uses good judgement and decision making sufficient to ensure accuracy and quality of lab tests

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in a chemical physical biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology - Required or

• Bachelors Degree must include minimally 60 semester hours or equivalent that includes either: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR 24 semester hours 6 chemistry 6 biology and 12 chemistry biology medical laboratory technology in any combination - Required

• Bachelors Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) - Preferred

• Masters Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related science or healthcare field Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory - Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

Certification (Medical Laboratory Scientist Chemistry Hematology Microbiology Technologist in Blood Bank Molecular Biology) by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent Preferred
