RN - ICU

ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Step-Down ICU and ICU units. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in ICU nursing, particularly within a Level 1 Trauma Center, and must be adaptable to float to the Step-Down ICU as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and state regulations.
• Document patient care according to established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as directed by physicians and in accordance with hospital policy, including instructions for patients and families.
• Participate in performance improvement activities within the unit, which may include shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other departments in support of the patient's overall plan of care.
• Utilize critical thinking to ensure patient safety and enhance patient experience, appropriately escalating concerns through the chain of command.

Shift Information

Shifts are typically from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Holiday coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Current Illinois RN License.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS/BCLS.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
