About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee multiple Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) locations in the Bloomington, Illinois market. This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven multi-unit leader—or a high-performing General Manager ready to take the next step—who is passionate about operational excellence, developing people, and driving business performance.
The Area Manager is responsible for coaching restaurant leadership teams, improving financial results, ensuring operational consistency, and delivering exceptional guest experiences across all assigned locations. This role requires a hands-on leader who enjoys being in the restaurants, developing talent, and creating a culture of accountability and success.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Unit Operations
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for multiple restaurant locations within the assigned market.
- Partner with General Managers to drive sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
- Conduct regular restaurant visits to evaluate performance, ensure brand standards, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement action plans that improve restaurant performance and guest satisfaction.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop General Managers and Assistant Managers.
- Build a strong leadership bench through succession planning and ongoing development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide continuous coaching and feedback.
- Foster a positive culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.
Financial Management
- Drive sales and profitability by managing key financial metrics, including labor, food cost, inventory, and controllable expenses.
- Analyze P&L statements and operational reports to identify trends and opportunities.
- Ensure restaurants consistently achieve sales, profitability, and operational goals.
- Assist General Managers in developing strategies to improve financial performance.
Guest Experience
- Ensure each restaurant delivers outstanding hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, and speed of service.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement corrective actions to improve satisfaction.
- Promote a culture that consistently exceeds guest expectations.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and health department regulations.
- Support new restaurant openings, remodels, and operational initiatives as needed.
- Conduct operational audits and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
- Drive consistency in execution across all assigned restaurants.
Community & Business Development
- Support local marketing initiatives and community engagement efforts.
- Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to increase brand awareness and sales.
- Partner with restaurant leadership to execute local sales-building strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of restaurant management experience , including multi-unit leadership or demonstrated readiness to advance from a General Manager role.
- Experience in a high-volume Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or Fast Casual environment.
- Proven success managing full P&L responsibility and driving operational performance.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills.
- Excellent financial acumen with experience managing labor, food costs, inventory, and restaurant profitability.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with leadership experience from national QSR brands such as McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, Popeyes, Arby's, Sonic, Hardee's, Culver's, Raising Cane's, or similar high-volume restaurant concepts are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between restaurant locations.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- Ability to lead multiple teams in a dynamic, multi-unit environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- $85,000–$100,000 annual salary , based on experience
