Job Purpose Sanmina is looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Inspector for our 2nd shift in Fremont, CA. You will determine product acceptance both in-process and at final assembly by inspecting parts per customer drawings and workmanship standards. You will use monitoring and measurement devices and perform visual inspection. You will document and submit inspection and testing results in paper and electronic systems. You may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control. Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities Perform inspections to determine the quality of both metal components and electromechanical assemblies, visually and dimensionally, based on internal and customer workmanship standards and drawing specifications. Inspect areas including machining, sheet metal fabrication, paint, and weld; may extend to clean room and final assembly inspection. Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased components and raw materials. Determine and assist in developing methods and procedures for quality inspection and control. Apply final labels or markings as required to demonstrate product acceptance. Document and communicate any non-conformances identified during inspection activities. Perform calibration audits and support internal calibration activities. Complete daily reports of inspection activities. Visual acuity and manual dexterity required. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs. Education And Experience Qualifications High School Diploma or college courses. Minimum of 4-6 years of quality assurance experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment. Experience with weld inspection highly desired. Experience as a CMM operator is a plus. Knowledge of GD&T drawings consistent with the latest revisions of ASME standards. Ability to design and build fixtures for welding parts. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to pass a weld test. Welding certification is a plus, knowledge in robot weld, arc weld, spot weld. Knowledge of mechanical inspection and ability to use inspection tools. Experience reading and interpreting BOMs, workmanship standards and customer engineering specifications. Experience with basic inspection equipment such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, etc. Competent in word processing, spreadsheets, and data analysis. Effective oral and written communication skills. Must be flexible regarding overtime availability and able to work with minimal supervision. Work Environment The work environment may include exposure to dust, oil, coolant, and noise. Moderate noise level typical of the facility. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes in work processes.
