Then, we provide construction support through plan clarification, contractor and field surveyor coordination, construction inspection, and material testing. Our Surveying/Engineering staff has provided economical and efficient surveys/designs for numerous projects ranging from single family residential, large commercial and industrial developments and municipal projects.THD Design Group is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to competently perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. If you are seeking an opportunity with a fast growing company and you possess leadership qualities and a solid work ethic, THD Design Group wants you!Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork in a multi-disciplinary team environment to provide engineering and consulting support for THD's projects and clients. Work closely with senior-level project managers and professional engineers to gain project management and engineering experience.Must be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.Assist in developing the scope of services, cost estimates, and proposals for a variety of projects including residential, commercial, transportation, and infrastructure.Perform geotechnical field work including field reconnaissance, preparation of field boring logs, obtaining soil samples, construction observation, and material testing services.Participate in geotechnical laboratory testing, engineering analysis, and development of engineering recommendations.Prepare reports, plans, and specifications based on engineering analysis.Attend meetings with clients as a representative of THD.Project management activities to track and evaluate project scope, schedules, and budgets.Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management and maintain quality standards on all projects.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Geological/Civil Engineering or related fieldEngineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) preferred.Open to all experience levels including Professional Engineer (PE)Strong problem solving and resolution skillsAbility to multitaskStrong time management skillsAbility to communicate via email and verballyCompensation/BenefitsStarting salary commensurate with background and level of experience.
