2nd Shift Production Lead

Manufacturing SupervisorLead and coordinate the activities of associates engaged in manufacturing processes of production. Uphold the Merit Brass fundamentals, acting with a sense of urgency and upholding the core values as published. Maintain a professional, ethical, and respectful attitude while exercising teamwork to achieve a published goal.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates a commitment to associate engagement, personal responsibility, and accountability for the associate's safety & knowledge progressionMeet with leadership daily to determine workflow; material movement, work assignments, reviewing previous daily, weekly, and monthly performance, both at the individual and departmental levelResponsible for training, feedback, coaching, mentoring, and development of each associateResponsible for achieving current departmental KPI's and working with leadership to determine future departmental goals as current ones become sustainableServes as a resource and content expert to team members, providing them with guidance and being available to answer questions to clarify the work activitiesRelates all new or revised procedures and/or processes to team members to ensure the most up-to-date and current information is being usedReview production entries (Calculate/Approve/Transfer) as neededStrives to achieve Merit Brass production metrics, including reduced errors, increased on-time delivery, accuracy, and serviceability (internal & external)Support Merit Brass by actively listening to any suggestions, concerns, or opportunities of associatesEnsures work areas and production processes conform to safety requirements and are hazard-freeWorks with supervision to identify, establish, and modify department operational methods and procedures, with an effort to continuously improve our processesExpectation of performing set-up and changeovers within the departmentWillingness and ability to work overtime or modified schedule as neededBe the backup to the Supervisor when they are not availableOther duties as assignedRequirementsDemonstrate initiative in current role with analytical problem-solving abilities, and exhibit leadership traitsUnderstanding that this role serves the needs of multiple customers: Operators, next operation, and other leadership within the companyOwnership of the processes, and accountable for outputs of the department & project deadlinesAbility to communicate at all levels and with all departments within the company (manufacturing, shipping/receiving, purchasing, sales, etc.)Be an agent of change by being agile and willing to adapt to a variety of different opportunitiesKnowledge of Merit Safety standardKnowledge of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, and RF ScanningAble to stand, reach, bend, push, and pull bulky material for the entire shift and capable of lifting 50-70 lbs. frequently
