Position Summary...

As a Staff Software Engineer , you will lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, driving the full software development lifecycle from coding to deployment and maintenance. You will apply cloud-native architecture principles and integrate AI/ML technologies to build innovative solutions that enhance engineering productivity and platform resilience. This role requires strong technical leadership, mentoring, and collaboration across teams to ensure alignment with business goals and architectural standards. You will leverage data-driven practices to define success metrics, continuously improve processes, and contribute to engineering excellence within a dynamic environment.

About the team: Our team develops reusable technologies that enhance customer acquisition, onboarding, and merchant empowerment, ensuring seamless experiences across in-store, mobile app, and website channels. We focus on optimizing tariffs and assortment aligned with Walmart’s Everyday Low Cost philosophy. Leveraging advanced technical skills, we deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that drive value and affordability. Committed to innovation and continuous improvement, the team supports Walmart’s business customers by maintaining operational excellence and fostering collaboration to meet evolving business needs across multiple platforms.

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
• Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
• Build AI-driven applications integrating AI agents and ML components for automation and multi-step reasoning.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics using data-driven practices.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
