It’s not a job, but a calling. Thus, Hillcrest Baptist Church of Riverton is seeking an energetic co-vocational or semi-retired man who has been called by God to shepherd the church in spiritual growth and outreach to the community with the Gospel of Christ. He should have one to five years of experience and a heart for pastoral care, able to preach, teach and lead the church in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Required Qualifications:

Ordained Southern Baptist minister, who adheres to the Southern Baptist Faith and Message, as well as the qualifications as ascribed in 1Timothy 3:1-7

Pay: $30,000/yr – Negotiable split between salary and housing allowance.

In addition, reasonable relocation assistance can be provided.

Hillcrest Baptist Church has an average attendance of 30 for church and 20 for Sunday school. We recently celebrated our 70th anniversary in 2024 and have been the mother church for many churches throughout Wyoming.

Riverton was founded in 1905 and named for the rivers that meet here. Located in the central part of Wyoming, with a population of just over 10,000, Riverton is adjacent to the Wind River Indian Reservation. Riverton draws people from miles around and has an out-sized service community compared to a typical city of its size. A regional Airport services the area with flights to Denver. Economic drivers in the area include energy, agricultural, and tourism industries.

There are 9 schools in the community; 1 preschool, 6 elementary, 1 middle school, 2 high schools, and Central Wyoming College. There is a local hospital with a new community hospital being built.

Central Wyoming offers multiple recreational opportunities, to include lakes, rivers, reservoirs for boating and fishing, both summer and winter. Wyoming has big game hunting for antelope, deer, elk, moose and bear. There are miles of 4×4 and snowmobile trails.

Riverton hosts an annual Hot Air Balloon Rally, a 2-day Main Street car show rally, and The 1838 Mountain Man Rendezvous.

Riverton has the Wind River Hotel and Casino, an Aquatic Center and a Senior Center. There are many family restaurants, and most of the popular fast food restaurants.
