RN - PCU

Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Location: Anchorage, AK

Schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend required.

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our high acuity step down unit. The RN will be responsible for delivering patient care and managing a variety of medical conditions in a busy and dynamic environment. You will work with a skilled team to provide the highest level of support to patients requiring step-down ICU care.

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care in a 19-bed Step Down unit with a 3:1 patient ratio.
• Conduct physical assessments and document intake/output every 4 hours.
• Perform hourly safety rounds and ensure safe patient positioning.
• Administer medications and titratable drips including dopamine, dobutamine, and more.
• Participate in emergent procedures such as cardioversion.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current AK RN license (permanent license only, no temporary licensing accepted).
• Minimum of 1 year of step down ICU/IMC/PCU experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience with tracheostomy patients and long-term ventilator support preferred.
