Head Custodian at Middle School

Head Custodian Location: Orchard View Middle School Reports to: Director of Maintenance and Building Administrator Position Available: July 1, 2026 Responsibilities Head custodians and maintenance employees shall be directly responsible for building operations including cleaning, plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, ventilation, general supervision, and maintenance of all equipment in buildings and on grounds. Responsibilities include continuing repairs that do not require specialized licensing, notifying the director when skilled or licensed personnel are needed, and performing mowing, shoveling, plowing, and weekend building checks. Recommended Skills and Qualifications Ability to handle maintenance (both major and minor) with general cleaning as secondary duty. Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to make minor repairs and adjustments for plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and ventilation. Responsible for keeping buildings and equipment in good working condition. Preparation of athletic fields and general upkeep of grounds. Snow removal, pruning of trees and shrubs, and pesticide application. Ability to operate a computer, maintain inventory, and follow purchasing guidelines. Implementation of lead‑safe practices relevant to the position. Operations and maintenance of irrigation systems and operation of forklift. Carpentry skills and maintenance of mowers, weed whackers, blowers, etc. recommended. #J-18808-Ljbffr
