Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse

Provides specialized nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a 32-bed unit, focusing on cardiovascular conditions and telemetry monitoring. Ensures comprehensive patient management in a fast-paced clinical environment, supporting patient recovery and post-hospitalization care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications and interventions to cardiac patients utilizing telemetry systems.
• Monitor patient vital signs, including continuous EKG and oxygen saturation, to detect arrhythmias or cardiac events.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate diagnostic tests, procedures, and ongoing patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about condition management, medication adherence, and post-discharge care.
• Document patient responses and clinical observations accurately in electronic medical records.
• Prepare patients for cardiac interventions, surgeries, or diagnostic evaluations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license and active state certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac telemetry or stepdown unit.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system (minimum 1 year required).
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and SC certifications.
• Demonstrated skills in telemetry monitoring, cardiac care, and emergency response.
