MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Maintenance ManagerThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance team and overseeing all building and equipment maintenance for a high-volume bakery and restaurant operation. This position requires an experienced maintenance professional with a strong background in food production equipment, facility systems, preventive maintenance planning, and team leadership. The Maintenance Manager ensures equipment is operating safely and efficiently, repairs are completed in a timely manner, and the facility remains in compliance with health and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesSupervise, train, direct, and support maintenance staff. Hold maintenance team members accountable to performance standards, safety protocols, and work quality.Assign daily work orders and make sure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.Assist with hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of maintenance personnel.Working with the team, this is a hand-on role, not solely administrative.Oversee and perform preventative and routine maintenance in bakery, kitchen, café, and facility systems.Troubleshoot and repair industrial bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, sheeters, proofers, refrigeration units, dish machines, and conveyors.Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Work with controls and automation systems including PLCs, sensors, relays, and temperature control systems.Use a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or similar maintenance tracking system to:Follow and enforce proper lockout/tagout and other OSHA-required safety procedures.Maintain and manage spare parts inventory for critical equipment.Coordinate external service providers, specialty technicians, and equipment vendors.Maintain professional relationships with outside service partners.Requirements5+ years of professional maintenance experience, preferably in a bakery, commercial kitchen, food production, or manufacturing environment.Supervisory or management experience is required (leading, directing, and evaluating maintenance staff).Experience with controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, temperature controls).Experience using work order or maintenance management systems.Able to lift to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for long periods.Must be able to work flexible hours based on business needs, including early mornings, nights, and weekends, or holidays as required.Preferred Certifications (Not Required)Electrical training or industrial electrical courseworkPLC (Programmable Logic Controller) -Controls Systems TrainingHVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) CertificationOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Occupational Safety and Health 10-hour training or 30-hour training)What's in it for you?At the H&S Family of Bakeries, we value our team members and make it a priority to offer competitive compensation that encourages longevity with the company and long-term growth.
