Job Summary:

Set molds in the casting machines and prepare them for production set-up

Responsibilities

•Operate casting equipment in a safe manner at all times

•Train Molders on safety and correct operations

•Monitor equipment in your area of responsibility for adverse conditions and advise supervision of these conditions

•Set-up casters for high productivity levels within your area of responsibility to include Trim Dies

•Perform all duties that a molder performs

•Change and prep fill tubes

•Change molds and Trim Dies

•Regularly scheduled follow up training and competency evaluation will take place annually and be included with an employee’s annual evaluation summary and maintained by HR in the employee records.

•Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the   supervisor

•Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Bloodborne Pathogens; Lockout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics

•When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job

Academic Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent required

•Prior Casting Experience

•Works in a seasonally fast paced environment under minimum supervision.  

•Routine responsibilities and duties involve the use of various procedures and the application of clearly prescribed standards of practice, requiring the use of good judgment.  

•Must work with a high degree of accuracy.

•The job works in conditions with constant exposure (67% or more) to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc. 

•Confined sitting

•Walking

•Repetitive lifting of objects (under 5 lbs., over 5 lbs.)

•Repetitive manual movements (e.g., keyboarding)

•Carrying pushing or pulling objects (under 5 lbs., over 5 lbs.)

•Crouching, climbing

•Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens or numbers

•Precise eye/hand coordination
