Nation Outside is hiring in Jackson and Hillsdale Counties! Position: Trauma-Informed Peer Navigator Program: Region 9 Offender Success Reentry Case Management Pay: $21.50 per hour Schedule: Part-time Service area: Jackson and Hillsdale Counties, Michigan The Trauma-Informed Peer Navigator will provide dignity-centered case management and resource coordination to people returning to their communities after incarceration. This position will help participants work toward successful parole completion and long-term stability. Responsibilities include: Employment and job-readiness support Housing navigation and property inspections Connections to transportation, identification, clothing, work supplies, public benefits, and other resources Landlord engagement and relationship-building Case notes, service documentation, and outcome tracking Coordination with participants, field agents, employers, landlords, and community partners Facilitation of pro-social activities at housing sites Lived experience is central to this position. Applicants must: Be formerly incarcerated or have a conviction Have successfully completed probation or parole and no longer be under MDOC supervision Have a high school diploma or GED Have a valid drivers license, car insurance, and consistent access to a reliable vehicle Be able to travel regularly throughout Jackson and Hillsdale Counties Knowledge of local resources and experience with employment support, housing navigation, public benefits, or barrier removal are strongly valued.
