Clinical Nurse (RN) Educator POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Educator is responsible for the clinical training and assessment of clinical skill competencies of the medical support staff throughout the organization. This position also works along with Medical Leadership to provide educational opportunities to support staff and assist in performance management and improvement as needed. The Clinical Educator reports to a Director of Clinical Operations.QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:Illinois Nurse Practice Act and Nursing Code of EthicsNursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation process The healthcare environment as it relates to the patient care delivery system Research databases to remain current on best practices and updates in patient careFamiliarization with the Illinois Medical Practice ActAvailable community resourcesAge-specific careCulturally sensitive careCrusader Community Health resourcesAbility to: Comprehend and interpret nursing research Communicate effectively both verbally and writtenMaintain professionalism in stressful situationsManage time effectively Look for ways to improve and promote quality and implement change initiativesUse independent professional judgmentFollow Crusader policies and guidelinesSupport organizational goals, mission, and valuesTravel between locationsAdapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected eventsWork independently with minimum/no supervision Write reports and routine business correspondenceMaintain confidentiality of records as well as strategic organizational initiatives Deal tactfully, professionally, respectfully, and courteously with others, regardless of their status or positionAccept responsibility for your own actionsFollow through on commitmentsIdentify and resolve problems in a timely mannerConserve organizational resources by being cost conscious Manage detailed projectsTrain clinical personnelEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Education: Associates’ Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferredGraduate of an approved school of Registered Professional NursingCurrent Illinois Registered Professional Nursing licenseCurrent CPR certification through the American Heart Association Experience:Ambulatory care, hospital, or public health required, strong adult-health, medical/surgical, pediatric, and/or women’s health preferred Utilization of an electronic medical record requiredOne-two years of management/leadership in direct patient care preferredPrevious education of medical practices preferredTechnical Knowledge:Software: Electronic Medical Record experience, familiarity with eClinical Works (eCW) preferred, proficiency in computer software applications Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Learning management system, i2i experience preferredEquipment: PC, email, facsimile machine, computerized voice mail system, common office machines, video equipment, and multi-line telephone systemCrusader Community Health serves the Rock River Valley area with quality primary health care for all people in need.
