Transdev Operations Management Internship Location: Various Transdev Divisions | Duration: 8 Weeks | Type: Full‑Time Internship About the Program Transdev is seeking a motivated intern for an immersive, eight‑week rotational program designed to build the next generation of transit operations leaders. Working directly alongside senior leadership, general managers, and department heads, the intern will gain hands‑on exposure to every facet of running a transportation division, from daily dispatch and safety compliance to maintenance, finance, and business development. What You’ll Do In the first week, the intern is introduced to the organization through meetings with the Senior Vice President, local management, client, and HR, along with onboarding essentials such as payroll systems, compliance training, and IT setup. The program then moves into full immersion in daily operations: shadowing road supervisors, dispatchers, mechanics; learning staff scheduling, run‑cut, and bid shift management; and observing dispatch, reservations, and customer service in real time. By week three, the intern takes on active responsibilities—participating in dispatch and reservations work, helping open and close the office, and planning an employee engagement event to be executed later. Exposure to organized labor relations, union contract structure, and a mock grievance hearing follows. Weeks four and five focus on safety and training, covering classroom instruction, FTA drug and alcohol mandates, accident and incident response procedures, and a hands‑on safety blitz the intern plans and leads. The intern conducts ride checks and road observations independently. Week six shifts into maintenance and business operations: learning the preventive maintenance program, work order flow, parts inventory tracking, and then moving into accounting and business development sessions covering P&L review, invoicing, bid modeling, and proposal preparation. The intern also leads the employee engagement event planned earlier. In the final two weeks, the intern takes on a true leadership role—running a monthly safety meeting, processing payroll at the division level, serving as dispatcher for a day, and stepping into the general manager’s seat for a full day with coaching support. The program concludes with month‑end financial reviews, a full divisional audit, and a final debrief with leadership.
