Job Title: Medical Surgical Neuro Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum one year of experience required License: SC or Multi State/Compact RN license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS and NIHSS preferred Must-Have: 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical nursing Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 Proficiency in charting systems Description: This position involves providing care in a Medical Surgical Neuro unit. The nurse will work three 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend shifts will be required, with 4-5 shifts per 4-week period and participation in holiday rotation. The nurse will manage a diverse patient population including adults and geriatrics. The unit focuses on general neurology, stroke management, and epilepsy monitoring. Private patient rooms are provided, with resources for continuous epilepsy monitoring. Care includes managing conditions such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular diseases. The unit also supports a comprehensive spine center and epilepsy center services. All staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season from June through November. Travelers should be prepared for potential changes to their assignments during this period.
