Overview

Mental Health Part‑Time Clinical Nursing Faculty positions at Chamberlain College of Nursing involve mentoring students in an inpatient clinical setting in the Charleston, NC area. The role connects classroom learning, simulation, and real‑world patient care to prepare students for professional nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Mentor students in person at an inpatient clinical center.
• Bridge the gap between classroom concepts and patient care, ensuring students are prepared and confident.
• Supervise nursing skill demonstrations and procedures.
• Assist students with understanding the dynamics of patients with anxiety, self‑concept issues, thought disorders, mood alterations, addictive behaviors, organic brain dysfunction, abuse, and violence.

Scheduling

• Schedule determined by course needs and clinical specialty for each 8‑week session.
• Typically 3–4 consecutive 12‑hour shifts over 1–2 weeks per session.
• Additional dates may not be available; clinical dates are not guaranteed for every session.

Qualifications

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
• An unencumbered professional nursing license in South Carolina.
• Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses (course assignments prioritized to professors who are currently licensed in Illinois).
• Active BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
• At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
• Teaching or precepting experience preferred but not required.
• Passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
• Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

Pay transparency: $1,120 – $7,245 per assignment.
