Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician

Veterinary Emergency Referral Center (VERC) is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight Emergency team in Pensacola, FL. This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Vet Tech who enjoys emergency medicine, hands-on patient care, and working with a team that values excellent medicine, client service, and continued professional growth.

Compensation

• $20–$23/hour based on skills assessment and experience
• Additional $2/hour overnight shift differential

Schedule

• Full-time
• Three 12-hour overnight shifts per week
• Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care for emergency outpatient cases
• Assist with patient assessment, treatment, monitoring, and daily care
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, and other technical procedures
• Assist with diagnostic imaging, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, and drug calculations
• Safely restrain and handle patients
• Monitor patients and communicate changes to the veterinary medical team
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow hospital protocols
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient patient care environment
• Support the Emergency team in providing timely, compassionate care

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Veterinary Technician
• Emergency veterinary experience preferred, LVT certification prioritized
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, including restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, venipuncture, anesthesia, drug calculations, and laboratory procedures
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Ability to adapt to the individual needs of patients and work effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Positive, respectful, and team-oriented approach
• Commitment to continued learning and professional development
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
