Quality Test Specialist 1

Location: El Segundo, CA
Pay Rate: $30.38/hour
Contract: 6 months
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift
Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently seeking a Quality Test Specialist 1 for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA . This position is ideal for a hands-on quality or dimensional inspection professional with experience using CMMs, precision measurement tools, engineering drawings, and GD&T .

Job Responsibilities

• Perform precision inspection of machined, fabricated, and assembled components to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Use precision measurement equipment including height gauges, dial indicators, surface plates, gauge blocks, micrometers, optical comparators, and CMMs .
• Operate articulated-arm portable CMMs , such as FARO or Romer Arms.
• Operate and program bridge-style CMMs , such as Brown & Sharpe or Hexagon.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, inspection plans, and GD&T symbols in accordance with ASME Y14.5 .
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, geometric tolerances, and overall workmanship.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects, deviations, and out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Collect and document test, inspection, and measurement data according to established procedures.
• Perform basic setup and calibration of specialized test and measurement equipment.
• Analyze routine inspection and test data to determine product and process conformity.
• Escalate abnormal or anomalous test and inspection results as required.
• Work closely with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve process control and reduce discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area.
• Follow AS9100 and site/customer quality requirements.
• Work under close supervision while gaining knowledge of quality testing and inspection processes.

Qualifications

• Experience operating articulated-arm portable CMMs , such as FARO Arm or Romer Arm.
• Experience operating and programming bridge-style CMMs , such as Brown & Sharpe or Hexagon.
• Hands-on experience using manual precision measurement tools, including:
• • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Height Gauges
  • Dial Indicators
  • Gauge Pins
  • Gauge Blocks
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints .
• Working knowledge of GD&T / ASME Y14.5 .
• Experience with dimensional inspection and precision measurement.
• Ability to document inspection results and identify out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Aerospace or advanced manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
• Experience working within AS9100 quality environments is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. Person .
• Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance . Clearance is not required to start.
