Join a collaborative Urology practice in Duluth, Minnesota, providing ongoing locum coverage beginning January 1, 2027. The practice is seeking approximately 1920 days of coverage per month, with the primary scheduling need running from 7:00 AM Thursday through 7:00 AM the following Monday. The practice is also seeking a permanent Urologist, making this a potential locum-to-permanent opportunity, although a permanent commitment is not required. Longer periods of coverage may occasionally be needed when one or more permanent surgeons are out of the office.

• Approximately 1920 days of coverage per month
• Primary coverage need: Thursday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM
• Longer periods of coverage may be needed when surgeons are out of the office
• Call volume varies by day
• Monday call volumes are typically higher following the weekend
• Locum-to-permanent opportunity preferred but not required

Clinical Details & Responsibilities:

Practice Setting: Hospital, Inpatient, Urology Practice

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide Urology coverage
• Evaluate and manage inpatient Urology patients
• Round on hospitalized patients
• Perform morning hospital rounds
• Evaluate Urology consultations
• Manage assigned and unassigned patients
• Admit patients as required
• Respond to inpatient Urology needs
• Provide approximately 34 phone consultations
• See approximately 56 patients
• Manage variable admissions
• Coordinate care with the Urology surgeons and hospital team
• Work collaboratively with the Urology-experienced APC
• Document patient care using EPIC

Call Type: Beeper call

Call Ratio: 1:4

• Inpatient Urology

• Urgent Urology needs
• Assigned and unassigned patients
• Phone consultations

Response Time: 30 minutes

Call Volume: Call volume varies by day. Monday volumes are typically higher after the weekend.

Support & Team:

The provider will join a collaborative group of 3 Board Certified Urologists supported by a friendly team that is willing to assist with patient care and clinical responsibilities. A newly onboarded APC with Urology experience assists with hospital rounding every morning and will be available to work with the locum provider.

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Urology Required
• Urology Fellowship Required
• Active Minnesota License Required
• IMLC accepted
• ACLS Required
• BLS Required
• Ability to provide hospital-based Urology coverage
• Ability to manage admissions
• Ability to participate in beeper call
• Ability to respond within 30 minutes while on call
• Ability to work with assigned and unassigned patients

Credentialing:

An active Minnesota medical license is required. The facility accepts IMLC physicians. Urology Fellowship training is required. Board Certification or Board Eligibility is required. Please inquire for current credentialing timeline and requirements.
