Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking a Mid-Level Estimator / Senior Estimator to join a client in the commercial construction industry. This individual will support the preparation and development of detailed cost estimates for large-scale construction projects, with an emphasis on data centers and other complex commercial builds. They will review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to perform quantity takeoffs, analyze project scope, and develop competitive pricing strategies. The estimator will coordinate subcontractor outreach, manage bid tracking activities, review drawing revisions, facilitate scope clarifications, and ensure all pricing changes and change orders are captured accurately. They will work closely with preconstruction, operations, and project management teams to align on project scope, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and value engineering opportunities. Additionally, they will utilize Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore to manage estimates, document changes, and support proposal development throughout the bidding process.

Overview

The Estimator will lead the preparation of accurate, detailed, and competitive proposals and bids for commercial construction projects. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to evaluate complex scopes, collaborate with internal teams, and engage with subcontractors and clients. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of construction disciplines, strong analytical skills, and experience supporting large-scale pursuits.

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience

• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and scope reviews

• Experience working across all construction disciplines

• Strong subcontractor bid tracking experience including:

○ Drawing revisions

○ Follow-ups

○ Pricing changes

○ Scope clarification questions

○ Capturing scope changes

○ Change order management

• Advanced Excel skills

• Bluebeam experience

• Procore experience

• Ability to review plans, specifications, and bid documents • Data center project experience strongly preferred

• Experience with Cost-OS, OST, and/or PlanSwift

• Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree
