Private Equity Assistant Controller

Boutique Private Equity Fund in NYC looking to hire Assistant Controller / Controller!

The role is open due to firm growth, will report to the CFO and be their right hand person, working across a variety of responsibilities including accounting, finance, investor relations, treasury, and process improvement initiatives.

Targeting a candidate with 5+ years of PE Accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

• Own the full fund finance function — quarterly/annual close, NAV packages, financial statements, and capital account reporting across funds, SPVs, and co-invest vehicles

• Lead valuation, fee, and waterfall mechanics, including portfolio valuations, management fees, and carried interest calculations

• Drive capital activity and investor relations — capital calls, distributions, commitment tracking, and DDQ/investor reporting support

• Manage treasury and liquidity — cash forecasting, credit facility compliance, and banking/wire controls

• Manage and mentor a 3-4 person offshore accounting team, while building scalable processes and systems to support the firm's growth

• Partner cross-functionally with the investment team, legal, and the CFO on deal closings, fund structuring, and strategic initiatives
