Bartender (Part-Time) Overview The Bartender is responsible for the complete setup of the bar area and the mixing of drinks for all guests and servers. The role requires maintaining the service and cleanliness of the bar area, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and control over liquor inventory. Responsibilities Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees. Set up the bar according to hotel standards and serve guests promptly and efficiently. Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the hotel's mixing and presentation standards. Serve guests with all beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Break down the bar after events, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment according to hotel standards. Follow all state liquor laws. Know hotel services and facilities. Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules. Follow prescribed procedures to serve liquor with care and avoid problems with intoxicated guests. Respond to guests' problems, complaints, and accidents. Be familiar with all fire exit locations and fire extinguisher locations and how to operate them. Ensure that the bar and service areas are kept clean and tidy during service. Ensure overall guest satisfaction. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hotel or related field preferred. Flexible and able to work long hours when required. Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Must be able to stand during entire shift. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and guests. Must effectively listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests. Must multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service‑oriented manner. Attend all hotel‑required meetings and trainings. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag. Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Maximize efforts toward productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions. Handle problems effectively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary. Understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet objectives. Cross‑train in other hotel‑related areas. Maintain confidentiality of information.
