Work collaboratively with medical staff, patients, residents, families and food service department to ensure that patient/resident care plans are implemented and department standards are maintained while meeting all regulatory requirements put forth by local, state and federal agencies./ppRoles and Responsibilities/pulliAssess residents and patients for malnutrition and develop nutrition interventions and care plans to address identified nutrition diagnoses/liliServe as a department representative as part of the hospital clinical team/liliManage the clinical workload between dietitian and diet tech, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner/liliCollaborate with Nutrition Manager on menu development and implementation/liliRepresent the Nutrition department QAPI and resident council meetings and Dining Committee/liliManage department enteral feeding policy and assist with development and management of other department policies, as needed/liliPossess subject Matter Expert (SME) using food service management software./liliApprove and manage diets in menu software/liliServe as a consultant to Acute Care and Swing Bed units/liliProvide nutritional education and counseling to residents/patients and families./liliKeep certification/license active with continuing education./liliAdherence to all local, state and federal safety and sanitation codes/liliMaintain departmental policies and procedure of clinical care in accordance with regulatory agencies./liliProvide educational training to Dietary staff as needed./li/ulpRequired Qualifications:/pulliEducation: Bachelors degree in Nutritional or Dietetics. Masters preferred./liliExperience: 1 year of related experience in acute and geriatric based healthcare/liliLicensure: currently licensed as a Registered Dietician/li/ulpPreferred Qualifications:/pulliMasters Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics/li/ulpLocation and Travel Requirements/pulliOnsite - Schuyler Hospital - 220 Steuben Street Montour Falls, NY 14865/liliDay Shift/li/ulpPhysical Requirements/pulliStanding for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling and reaching. May be exposed to areas of extreme heat or cold. Primary location may include loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, exposure to sharp objects.
