Purpose: To efficiently pursue job leads, develop customer relationships, estimate projects, sell projects and manage projects from start to completion.

 

Reports to: Senior Project Manager/Ownership

 

Education Requirements:  

· High school degree

· 2 or 4 year college degree in a related field of study (preferred).

 

Experience requirements:

· 3+ years of experience in the Design/Build construction industry or similar industry applicable to relationship building and project management.

o On the job training will be provided.

 

Skills/Knowledge:  

· Knowledge of the Design/Build construction process

· Proficient with Microsoft Office programs

· Understanding of applicable sections of the International Building Code

· Ability to read, interpret and communicate construction drawings

· Schedule and execute multiple tasks at once

· Proficient at strategizing and problem solving

· Ability to work at/with all levels of an organization

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Strong organizational and communicative skills

· Self-motivation for the betterment and development of ones skills and abilities

 

Primary Duties & Tasks:

· Pursue and call on potential project leads and determine customer and project needs/requirements.

· Develop a preliminary scope of work and preliminary project plans to be used for project development and quoting.

· Analyze building codes and other technical documents to determine their effect on the project.

· Develop budgets and/or firm estimates by working with necessary trades to obtain complete quotes.

· Develop budgets and/or firm estimates by using in house estimating tools.

· Prepare owner presentation documents including proposals and drawings.

· Deliver project presentation, sell the project, and obtain and signed contract.

· Complete all applicable items listed on the project startup checklist.

· Manage a project from start to completion including schedule management and subcontractor management.

· Effectively manage change orders on a project with the owner.

· Manage the monthly invoicing and construction costs for the project.

· Attend company scheduling and sales meetings and report on the project schedule and status of various permit submittals.

· Represent J. A. Wagner in a professional manner at all times.

· Acknowledge, understand, and live the J.A Wagner core values.

· Future membership (if not already) in a local service club or not-for-profit organization to foster community involvement.

· Use time efficiently and effectively and be able to recognize and handle changing priorities.

· Ability to sell, manage and close out a project on time, within budget and maintain profit margin throughout.
